Christopher Lindsay
Christopher Lindsay flew out to Fuengerolla on Thursday 29th
September 2011 with colleagues from The Marketing Company. They were staying
until Monday 3rd October.
- The trip was planned by Barry Morgan MD as a reward for hard work.
There were around 10 colleagues on the trip and they were all staying together
in a private villa.
- The party went out on Saturday 1st October, some left to go back to
the villa but Chris stayed out with Brian Quinn MD - The last time Chris was seen was at approx 3am in the old town
cafe. - Brian stayed there until 7am but could not find Chris so returned to
the villa thinking Chris may have gone there himself - Chris was not at the villa
- The party did not hear from or see Chris again all day Sunday,
Sunday evening but failed to contact Police or Hospital - The party left the villa around 5.30 pm on Monday 3rd October to fly
home with out Chris. - When checking in at the Easyjet point (around 6pm) they were given a
message from the clerk saying Christopher Lindsay was in hospital but was
ok. - The clerk who took the message was Spanish but spoke good english
but we do not know what time Chris left the message with the air line. - No one went to the hospital, or notified the family - Chris's
brother Tony works with the company (but was not on the trip) so they have his
phone number. - Barry Morgan MD was supposed to be staying in Fuengerolla until
Friday 7th October with Brian Quinn MD and 2 other people were joining them.
Barry flew home using a separate airline due to a broken shoulder which needed
to have an operation and thought it would be better to go back to the UK to have
this done. - Brian Quinn stayed in Fuengerolla but did not go to the hospital or
contact the family with an update. - Vikki Soloman - partner received a telephone call from the hospital
on Tuesday 4th October 9am saying Chris was in hospital and we needed to go out
there - The hospital called back around 10am to give Vikki more information
(He was in a coma, very critical, could die within 2 hours, on life support and
alone) - Vikki contacted Tony and from there Harry and the rest of the family
were informed - Chris was transferred from the 1st hospital in Costa del sol to
Carlos Haya hospital in Malaga on Tuesday 4th evening - Harry and Tony flew out on Wednesday 5th October
- Chris's condition worsened on Thursday 6th October 12.30 evening but
the hospital failed to contact the family until 10am the next morning when Chris
had already died. - Chris passed away on Friday 7th October 8am approx
- The doctor broke the news to the family in the corridor.
- We have found out from another source that the body was allowed to
be flown home on Saturday 8th October but must be buried and not
cremated. - We have found out that we have to wait for the final report from
seville which could take 1-2 months - The British Consulate have not helped with this we have had to find
this out for ourselves - Vikki and Harry did an appeal on STV news on Tuesday 11 October for
information from other holiday makers who may have seen Chris when he was
missing as this was during the day Sunday and Monday - The daily record ran a report on Monday 10th
October.
